A Month of Firsts

Its been a big month in the Kachmarik household.  We have two little men that are growing up quickly.  Drew celebrated his 1/2 birthday and Connor is now officially 2 1/2!

FIRST SOLIDS

(Loose description as the cereal was initially pretty runny!)

Num Num as Connor would say.  Drew took right to eating like he’d been doing it forever.  He tried to coax our hand along with his own and made sure not to leave a drop left in the bowl.  This kid likes to eat!  While he may have been a little apprehensive during those first couple of bites, we’ve not seen a hint of that since.  There hasn’t been anything he doesn’t like and always seems to clean his bowl of everything we have to offer.

Connor is a great big brother and shows Drew all sorts of yummy food.  He’s tried to share with him a number of times since Drew started eating.  The novelty of feeding Drew is wearing off, but he continues to be a great sharer.

FIRST FLIGHT:

Vegas, BABY!  So maybe not the traditional Vegas trip, we did have a baby in Vegas and it was Drew’s first flight.  Connor went skiing on his first flight (Mammoth - March 2010) and Drew went to party (Vegas -March 2012).

Drew did awesome on his first marathon of flights.  It took a drive and then 3 legs to get there (Butte-Bozeman-Seattle-Portland-Vegas) and LONGER (with a flight delay and overnight stay in Seattle with nothing but toothbrushes) to get home but our boys were CHAMPION travelers.  They both earned their wings on this trip Smile

FIRST BATH IN DUCKY TUB:

Now that Drew is sitting really well, we introduced him to the Duck Tub!  Love this smile!

FIRST DREW INITIATED PLAY (PEEK-A-BOO AND OTHER GAMES):

Peek–A–Boo

Its so fun when your kids can play with you!  Drew is all about making silly faces, blowing bubbles and playing peek-a-boo with us now.  He has become quite the little man in the last 6 months.  I don’t think watching your kids being happy or learning new things can ever grow old!

POTTY TRAINING (Not as much fun as advertised):

Once we got back from Vegas, we decided we’d throw ourselves full on into potty training.  We’re trying – check back for progress reports.  We’ve tried stickers (on his shirt, on boards, etc), candy, games, songs, potty dances, and now we’re working on bribery…(want to go on the airplane???) haha!  I’ll let you know when (if ever) something works.  I hear there aren’t too many kindergartners that aren’t potty trained, so someday…..
