November 7 , 2009

Connor was baptized on Saturday and we were so blessed to be surrounded by our wonderful friends and family, including all four grandparents who flew in from Seattle and Butte :) It was so much fun to have everyone!

Here's a great shot of Connor just hanging out on the couch....

Connor is 2 months old

November 4, 2009

So, its only taken me 2 months to get my act back together. The days have been full of activity -- smiles and diapers and burps and spitting up. This is the beginning of getting better again at the blog. Here are my favorite pics of Connor lately.....

Week 39 - 40

This weekend is the end of Week 39 and the beginning of Week 40 - which means that Bean is no longer a watermellon and moving into being a small pumpkin!! That means we are only 1 week away from Bean's due date - and getting very excited!

This weekend we went to the SF MOMA to see the Ansel Adams exhibit with Lynz, Bob and Lynz's little sister Maddie. Bean is going to be so cultured :) As an added bonus, it was soooo nice to be in the city with natural air conditioning because it was 100* plus at our house!!
To top it all off, I'm officially off work so this week will be full of some relaxing, walking and a little swimming. Looking forward to it!

Week 38!!!

August 19, 2009 -

It's been a while! While we haven't been good about blogging, we have been busy getting ready for Bean. In the last 6 weeks, we've:
  • Celebrated our 3-Year Wedding Anniversary
  • Re-decorated our living room
  • Dan & Bob ran the San Francisco Marathon (in 3 hours, 24 minutes!)
  • Lish's wonderful friends threw a baby shower
  • We've completed Bean's room
  • Prepared for Labor
  • And are really ready for our little arrival!!!

Here's the most updated baby bump series....
Check out what we've been up to lately.....

Bean's Room (sans Wall Decor)

Bean's room is coming along! It feels so cozy and we can't wait to add a little wall decor after we find out whether it needs a little more pink or more blue fishies :) We're counting down now!!

Redecorating

So I guess you call this nesting! In the last little bit, we've done a bit of re-decorating..... the living room and Bean's room! Here's a sneak peak :)

Baby Shower

I have the best riends ever!!! Bean is so lucky to have so many uncles and soooo many "aunts"!!! Thank you girls for such a wonderful shower!

SF Marathon

San Francisco Marathon! Bob and Dan ran the San Francisco Marathon and did a great job! Lynz and I followed them in as many places as possible, Dan's dad rode his bike along with him and Betsy and my mom met us at the finish line.... all before 9am!!

Week 32

July 6, 2009 --

This past weekend we celebrated our 3rd anniversary. Hard to believe how quickly time flies!! Its been an amazing time and I look forward to all of our upcoming adventures.

It was absolutely wonderful to have a little getaway to celebrate. We got to go golfing and I had a legit birdie!! This preganant golfing thing is wonderful! We celebrated the rest of the weekend by getting ready for Bean, cleaning, painting, organizing. Dan could be hired as a professional painter and I love him for it!
Bean weighs as much as 4 naval oranges (3 3/4 pounds) and more than 16 inches long!

Week 30

June 22, 2009 -
Another baby bump photo group -- the shirt has switched to avoid the confusion between bump and shaddows.
Can't believe where the time, or my prior shape, has gone!!

Week 28

June 1, 2009
We have had a month's worth of travels - feeling a bit like Gulliver! HAWAII was amazing and absolutely the together time we needed. We did everything from an 8 mile hike to the waterfalls (where we ended up being drowned rats)....

We then proceeded to do a little golfing at a course with some absolutely amazing vistas. Some have compared Hole #17 to something you'd find at Pebble. (P.S. I scored a 105 on 18 holes!!!!)

We shared lots of romantic dinners and beach days and loved every minute of our relaxing trip. Bean quite enjoyed it too as there were many kicks of appreciation :) Hopefully we can make it back there again someday as a family!

Week 22-26

May 24, 2009 -

Sorry I have been a bad blogger lately! Bean has been on a number of trips lately, from Spokane, WA (Contrats Robert - Gonzaga Grad) to Omaha, NE (Can't believe Brian is actually a doctor - look out sick people!!) and now tomorrow we're off to HAWAII!! Very much looking forward to a little relaxing.

Bean is now the length of an English Hothouse Cucumber (believe it or not -- 14 inches!!) Watch out for next week :)
Well - as you can see from the picture, there's definately a baby bump now! It seems like it just happened overnight but all of a sudden - boom! Bean kicks a lot more often now and the movement is much easier to feel on the outside. We've learned Bean likes music a lot as well as dinner!

Here's a few other pics from our recent travels. I'll also vow to be a better blogger in the future (maybe we'll even get the pleasure of hearing from Dan once or twice - we'll see!)

Kickin' It!!!!

April 29, 2009

Ole, ole, ole. So this has been a long anticipated event! For the first time, Dan was actually able to feel Bean kick! While it may not have been as dramatic as this..... it was certainly an exciting moment. Looking forward to sharing it with my Mom in a couple weeks as she's been asking constantly if we could feel Bean.

Any guesses on what the veggie of the week is???? This week Bean is the size of a Spaghetti Squash and weighs 1 pound.

Week 21 - Baby Bump 2

April 20, 2009

Baby bump update -- its there!! This was a pretty quiet week overall in Bean development land. Still feeling some kicking and waiting for Dan to be able to feel it.

Dan & I went golfing this weekend and I've discovered I'm definitely a better golfer pregnant than not. I got 2 pars and most of my shots went straight (which has NEVER happened to me before!). Look out Tiger.... here I come :) Who knows, maybe we'll add that name to the list.... hehe.

We then went to the city for Trish & Chris's cocktail party -- only 2 months to their wedding. I discovered that virgin mojitos are pretty good - all things considered!

((Sad note on the week -- all our love and prayers to the Biniek family for their loss.))

Week 20 -- HALFWAY!

April 12, 2009

Its week 20 and we're already halfway to Bean's arrival. Bean is the length of a banana this week and the Dr. now is starting to measure from head to heel as the legs are streteched out enough to do so.

The second ultrasound today. This is the one to find out if we should be painting in pink or in blue.... but we're going to keep it a secret.... even from us. So while we'll end up with a lot of green and yellow... we'll also end up with a very exciting arrival! Stay tuned in 20 weeks to find out!

Here's the profile shot - looks like a baby this time!!

Week 18 - First "Baby Bump" shot

April 4, 2009

Pretty exciting week behind us! We had a great time on vacation at Whistler with Dan's family. While at yoga with Betsy, I felt Bean move for the first time! I couldn't believe it at first but then felt a few more movements throughout the week. Dan's pretty excited to begin feeling it move, but I think it may still be a few weeks. We'll see!

Here's the first of the promised "Belly" shots.

Week 18

Not too much here yet but will promise not to disappoint in upcoming months! Still feeling really good. This weekend we met up with friends in the city and became tourists in our own city! We went to Alcatraz followed by some Final 4 viewing at a local bar. (Don't worry, Lish and Bean didn't partake in bar beverages).

So much fun to hang out with everyone!

The Story of Bean

February 7, 2009

Made the trip down to LA on the weekend of February 7th to visit Dina, Tara and Lisa. Looking forward to the trip!

We went to dinner and while outside talking, I told the girls I wanted to show them the picture of Dan's newest "bike". I pulled out the ultrasound! After the screaming and laughing and crying was over there came many hours of excited talking. Dina mentioned this fabulous website which puts your baby in terms of a fruit/veggie each week. While she couldn't remember the website, we all began to speculate as to what it might be. We decided a "lima bean" was probably about right at 2 cm...... and it kinda stuck.

We're looking forward to meeting "BEAN" in September, 2009.

Its a boy?? Its a girl?? Maybe its a bike??!!

January 20, 2009

Week 8 was the first ultrasound. We went to the Dr. to confirm what the test had shown and sure enough - there was our little one - all 2 cm of it so far! We could hear the heartbeat and begin to see the arms and legs but all in all, it looked more like a bike than anything else. As a result, Uncle Brian K and Uncle Matt began referring to our little Bean as "Lance". This kid is going to have all sorts of nicknames!!! Check it out.
Actual: The little head is at the bottom right with the body stretching out from that.

And the winner is.....

January 3, 2009

One pink line or two???? Two wins!

This was our first knowledge of our little "Bean". Lish had been feeling a little funny for a few days and her sense of smell had gone through the roof. We wondered if something may be up so when we returned from Christmas and New Year's vacation with our families - we checked it out. Sure enough.... Bean's Journey had already begun.

Read on to see how "Bean" became the nickname.
