First B2 Belly Pic

OkJune 2011 012, so I realize that I haven’t been good with this baby at posting any pictures…. and the reason is that we hadn’t taken any!  With Connor, we started belly shots and fruit/veggie updates at week 15.  Today, I am at week 25 and after some friend requests, we decided it was finally time to take a belly shot.

B2 is kicking up a storm and has found all the best spots for attention (ribs, bladder, etc).  His favorite time to kick is when I’m reading to Connor with him on my lap or rocking him to sleep.  Early stages of sibling rivalry!

This past weekend was so nice that we couldn’t resist alloJune 2011 011wing Connor to stay up past his bedtime.  He had a long, late nap that day, so we figured it was going to be a struggle to get him down anyway, so we went for a walk to the park at 8:30.  It was such a nice evening and the sun was just beginning to set (its dusk around here until like 10pm anymore), so we went to find swings, which used to be Connor’s favorite.  Well, he has a new favorite – our little daredevil wanted to go to the top of the 8ft slide and go down on his own!  Here’s a few shots…

One more small Connor note – Connor was watching the end of Barney (don’t criticize if you don’t have kids – it holds his attention so I can catch a shower or unload the diswasher).  I came back into the room at the end when they were singing “I love you… you love me” (don’t lie, kids or no kids, you know the rest of the words).  He climbed up in my lap and gave me a big hug for the entire song as I sang to him.  At the end, he gave me an adorable kiss and then wanted down to go back to his toys.  Made my heart melt!!  It’s the moments like this that you wish you could capture and hold onto forever (and bring back up when he’s a teenager and tells me “I hate you” or “You’re the worst mom ever!”).  I’ll have to log it in the memory bank Smile

ALOHA!

We were lucky enough to spend a week in Hawaii May 2011 - Hawaii 047with Dan’s parents.  We were last there on our “babymoon” before Connor was born and guessed then that we wouldn’t be back for many years.  We had no idea we’d be lucky enough to do a babymoon#2!  I absolutely love this place – its truly paradise on earth!

I was nervous about a 6 hour flight with a nearly 2 year old and did lots of online research as to the best solutions.  Many blogs mentioned getting some fun new toys, wrapping them up and pulling them out at various points during the flight.  I shopped for a month at the Dollar Store, Target dollar aisle and other inexpensive locals to fill up this backpack!  (It totally got the job done, together with the DVD player – AMAZING!)May 2011 - Hawaii 001

We had a fabulous trip.  We hiked the crater at Diamond Head – and Connor got his first taste of a Hawaiian Shaved Ice (and many many more as he didn’t want to leave my side while I had this!)

Connor loved the Koi ponds and even tried to join the fishies “ffffff” for a swim the first time to visit them.  May 2011 - Hawaii 038

Unfortunately, mid way through the week, our normally adventuresome little guy started not feeling himself.  He barely wanted to touch the sand, wanted nothing to do with the water and just wanted to be held in our arms under an umbrella on the beach.  This was our view for the rest of the week … I honestly couldn’t complain (other than wanting Connor to be able to enjoy it)!

Thanks Betsy & Ken for letting us be part of your Escape to Paradise!
