Kickin' It!!!!

April 29, 2009

Ole, ole, ole. So this has been a long anticipated event! For the first time, Dan was actually able to feel Bean kick! While it may not have been as dramatic as this..... it was certainly an exciting moment. Looking forward to sharing it with my Mom in a couple weeks as she's been asking constantly if we could feel Bean.

Any guesses on what the veggie of the week is???? This week Bean is the size of a Spaghetti Squash and weighs 1 pound.

Week 21 - Baby Bump 2

April 20, 2009

Baby bump update -- its there!! This was a pretty quiet week overall in Bean development land. Still feeling some kicking and waiting for Dan to be able to feel it.

Dan & I went golfing this weekend and I've discovered I'm definitely a better golfer pregnant than not. I got 2 pars and most of my shots went straight (which has NEVER happened to me before!). Look out Tiger.... here I come :) Who knows, maybe we'll add that name to the list.... hehe.

We then went to the city for Trish & Chris's cocktail party -- only 2 months to their wedding. I discovered that virgin mojitos are pretty good - all things considered!

((Sad note on the week -- all our love and prayers to the Biniek family for their loss.))

Week 20 -- HALFWAY!

April 12, 2009

Its week 20 and we're already halfway to Bean's arrival. Bean is the length of a banana this week and the Dr. now is starting to measure from head to heel as the legs are streteched out enough to do so.

The second ultrasound today. This is the one to find out if we should be painting in pink or in blue.... but we're going to keep it a secret.... even from us. So while we'll end up with a lot of green and yellow... we'll also end up with a very exciting arrival! Stay tuned in 20 weeks to find out!

Here's the profile shot - looks like a baby this time!!

Week 18 - First "Baby Bump" shot

April 4, 2009

Pretty exciting week behind us! We had a great time on vacation at Whistler with Dan's family. While at yoga with Betsy, I felt Bean move for the first time! I couldn't believe it at first but then felt a few more movements throughout the week. Dan's pretty excited to begin feeling it move, but I think it may still be a few weeks. We'll see!

Here's the first of the promised "Belly" shots.

Week 18

Not too much here yet but will promise not to disappoint in upcoming months! Still feeling really good. This weekend we met up with friends in the city and became tourists in our own city! We went to Alcatraz followed by some Final 4 viewing at a local bar. (Don't worry, Lish and Bean didn't partake in bar beverages).

So much fun to hang out with everyone!

The Story of Bean

February 7, 2009

Made the trip down to LA on the weekend of February 7th to visit Dina, Tara and Lisa. Looking forward to the trip!

We went to dinner and while outside talking, I told the girls I wanted to show them the picture of Dan's newest "bike". I pulled out the ultrasound! After the screaming and laughing and crying was over there came many hours of excited talking. Dina mentioned this fabulous website which puts your baby in terms of a fruit/veggie each week. While she couldn't remember the website, we all began to speculate as to what it might be. We decided a "lima bean" was probably about right at 2 cm...... and it kinda stuck.

We're looking forward to meeting "BEAN" in September, 2009.

Its a boy?? Its a girl?? Maybe its a bike??!!

January 20, 2009

Week 8 was the first ultrasound. We went to the Dr. to confirm what the test had shown and sure enough - there was our little one - all 2 cm of it so far! We could hear the heartbeat and begin to see the arms and legs but all in all, it looked more like a bike than anything else. As a result, Uncle Brian K and Uncle Matt began referring to our little Bean as "Lance". This kid is going to have all sorts of nicknames!!! Check it out.
Actual: The little head is at the bottom right with the body stretching out from that.

And the winner is.....

January 3, 2009

One pink line or two???? Two wins!

This was our first knowledge of our little "Bean". Lish had been feeling a little funny for a few days and her sense of smell had gone through the roof. We wondered if something may be up so when we returned from Christmas and New Year's vacation with our families - we checked it out. Sure enough.... Bean's Journey had already begun.

Read on to see how "Bean" became the nickname.
