GO BRONCOS (The SCU version) !!!

Like many of you, we spent Thursday night watching the SCU vs. Gonzaga basketball game, hoping for SCU to pull out a win.  We went to a sports bar and grill to watch the game and Connor did really well for 2 hours... cheered on the Broncos.... and went home smiling!

Happy Bronco Family!
Our new favorite Connor-ism is his love of hugs.  He will get a running start to it, finishing in your arms or hugging you around your knees!  We LOVE it!

Last night we met up for dinner with an old HS friend of mine and her husband from Chicago (a transplant like Dan :)  We ran into them in October and they laughed.... saying they "needed some friends too!"  Since then their lives have been busy as they welcomed a new little girl the end of October.  We finally met up last night and had a great time at dinner.  Hopefully we'll get to make a few more local friends soon.

We're starting to settle into 2011 and life is returning to the daily normal.  As such, nothing all that exciting is going on to report.... so here's some little funny things....

We tell Connor that he can't sit too close to the TV and that he has to sit on the blanket so that we have a defined space that he sits in.  In the living room, he has to sit on the rug.  The other day, he decided that he wanted to sit closer to the TV than the rug is located, so he went to the basket and pulled out a blanket and sat on it.  We had to laugh and give him a little credit for ingenuity.

We bought Connor a beginner toothbrush kit about 8 months ago -- and he graduated to the toothbrush and training toothpaste about a month ago.  The toothpaste is Thomas the Train (note earlier post -- he LOVES Thomas!)  One day, he tried to run away with the toothbrush so I told him he had to sit when he brushes his teeth.  He loves to make the sound effects that go along with brushing his teeth (he hears Mommy & Daddy's electric toothbrush) -- so he sits there and goes ahhhhhhh,  rrrrrrrrrrrrrr,   vrrrrmmmmm.... as we brush his teeth!

The other day we made crab cakes as an appetizer... who would have guessed that Connor would devour them!  This kid might just be a chef!

Is this normal for a 16 month old?

My parents were over for dinner last weekend and afterward got to give Connor a bath.  He laughed so hard the entire time because Grandma Janet was squirting him in the tummy with his toy fish (which "spits" water).

After a long weekend and bath time, everyone was tired and we all curled up on the couch together to decompress a bit....

House Note -- We're getting the house set up more and more.  I ordered chairs to go with my Grandma's old (circa 1920) dining room table.  I got them this week and really like the way its coming together.  Here's a sneak peak....

Christmas & New Year's 2010

Four score and seven years ago..... Lish posted something to the blog.

So 2010 was a big year for us with lots of amazing changes, but I vow to make at least one improvement during 2011 - to keep the blog updated on a more regular basis.

Our Christmas season was packed with fun.  Connor began to truly experience the Christmas season.

From the beginning (of December).... We were lucky enough to visit everyone in the Bay Area in early December.  We had so much fun grabbing dinner with different people and only wish our stay could have been longer.  We got to conclude our weekend by staying in Aptos with my company's Christmas party (go Wells Fargo this year)!  We took Connor to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and he had as much fun with the pigeons outside as he did inside the aquarium.  To top things off, if you were a Monterey county resident - the aquarium was free -- we were the only schmucks that had to pay!!

Sunset in Aptos -- Thought of you Becko and the sunken ship :)

Connor pointing out the pigeons!

We spent some time with Santa --- Connor did AWESOME!  No pouting, no crying.... oh Santa Claus is coming to town.  You might just get rewarded for such good behavior with a Red Wagon (foreshadowing?)

Ho Ho Ho!
One of the new favorite Christmas presents was for outdoor fun... Grandma Janet & Grandpa Dan bought Connor a sled. We had lots of fun playing in the in the Winter Wonderland at my parents house.

I had fun decorating for Christmas & making our house feel like home.  We were lucky enough to get to share our house with my parents and Robert as well as Dan's parents and Lynz & Bob!  So much fun!!

Christmas Dinner was held on my Grandma's Dining room table -- love that we now have a home for it!

Dan's Christmas ornament (Christmas 2010 - "Golden Key" to Our New Home) and Connor's ornament (Christmas 2009 - Baby's First Christmas)

Christmas Eve at my parent's house....

Oh Thomas!  Connor's new favorite!

Just tear that wrapping paper.  Thanks D :)
Christmas morning brought a fun morning for Connor.  He was so excited about the new ATW (All Terrain Wagon) and insisted on pushing it around the house!!!  Later in the day, he got in the spirit of decorating as we were laying out our new rug.

More Christmas when Grandma Betsy & Grandpa Ken arrived!!

Now that's focus.
And at the end of the week, we were lucky enough to get to see Bob & Lynz not once but twice!  They came over our house and we all had very yummy steak for dinner (Lish's fav!)  Then a couple of days later, we joined them for a day of skiing at Big Sky.  The perfect day was capped off with a drink in the beautiful Moonlight Mountain lodge and an even more beautiful sunset!!
Ok - not our actual photo -- but it looked like this!
Happy 2011 All -- We love you all and miss you.  Hope to see you soon!
